RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Board adopt the meeting schedule and authorize staff to distribute it to members of the public that have requested copies of Board meeting agendas, and to post the schedule on the District's web site. The Administrative Committee considered this item on January 16, 2001 and recommended that Board approval.
BACKGROUND: According to the proposed schedule, the Board will meet on the third Monday of every month, except for the months of January and February when the regular meeting date would conflict with the Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday and Presidents' Day holidays, respectively. Note also that the May Board meeting will be conducted on the fourth Thursday, because the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency is scheduled to meet on the third Monday in May 2001.
Four additional meeting dates have been
scheduled for Thursdays , ten days following the regular Monday meetings
in April, June, August and October. These dates have been set aside for
any special meetings the Board may have reason to conduct. Staff recommends
that the Directors calendar the supplemental meeting dates. The proposed
schedule was discussed by the Board at its January 5, 2001 workshop.
