RE: Sleepy Hollow Steelhead Rearing
Facility – Temporary / Pilot Solution
In consideration of the District’s wish to consider a third, less expensive “temporary” or “pilot” solution, please consider the following:
1. Provide trailer mounted, emergency, self-priming pump similar to a Gorman Rupp T8 with cable electrical service from existing motor control center, resize pump to be capable of pumping 1 cfs at the design head.
2. Provide a centrifugal separator and portable discharge piping from portable pump to the centrifugal separator sized to accommodate flow of 1 cfs.
3. Connect centrifugal separator to existing tee ahead of the existing flow meter and add valve to isolate tee from existing piping.
4. Revise the existing fish screen to include height adjustment and a tee for connection to the emergency Gorman Rupp pump.
5. Revise existing Paco pump impellers at existing river water intake.
6. Provide a new backup, on the shelf, river pump with revised impellers.
Please note that this solution will require:
1. Considerable maintenance oversight to assure constant operation including, but not limited to high water flow damage to the piping and pump inlet placement.
2. Will require future replacement/reconstruction.
