for Exceptional Service to the Community

WHEREAS, David Pendergrass has served for 14 years on the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District Board of Directors as the Monterey County Mayor’s Select Committee representative. He was first appointed by his fellow mayors to represent them on the Board in May 1986 and served until January 1989. In June 1992 he was again appointed to the Board and has served continuously in that capacity for the past thirteen years.

WHEREAS, Mr. Pendergrass has continuously advocated for the position of the Mayors Select Committee on issues that come before the Board of Directors.

WHEREAS, Mr. Pendergrass has maintained the position throughout his term of office that his responsibility as a Director is to ensure that a secure water supply is developed for the benefit of present and future generations.

WHEREAS, Mr. Pendergrass began his political career in 1978. He has served as Mayor-Councilmember of Sand City for 25 years.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District expresses appreciation to David Pendergrass for his fourteen years of service to the District. Furthermore, the Board of Directors acknowledges Mr. Pendergrass for exceptional service to the community throughout his 25 years of elected public office.
