Report on Evaluation of Seawater Desalination Projects by
Bookman-Edmonston/GEI Consultants Bookman-Edmonston/GEI Consultants, engineering consultants to the District, will present their report evaluating three seawater desalination projects that have been proposed to serve the Monterey Peninsula. The three projects are the desalination component of the California-American Water’s Coastal Water Project; the Monterey Bay Regional Seawater Desalination Project proposed by the Pajaro/Sunny Mesa Community Services District in cooperation with Poseidon Resources Corporation; and the 7.5 million-gallon-per-day Sand City Desalination Project most recently studied by MPWMD in early 2004. The workshop will provide the opportunity for the Board and public to be informed about the projects and to ask questions of the consultant and District staff. |
