SUMMARY: The District annually retains RAMLIT Associates for assistance with CVSIM computer model maintenance, quality control and specific modeling requests associated with water supply projects and planning, as shown in Exhibit 4-A. RAMLIT is paid only for tasks authorized by the General Manager on an as-needed basis. The Board will consider renewing RAMLIT’s existing contract to provide for services in fiscal year (FY) 2006-2007 for a not-to-exceed amount of $6,000. The contract with RAMLIT will specify that the $6,000 is to be allocated in the following manner, in accordance with the FY 2006-2007 budget adopted by the Board at its June 19, 2006 meeting:

The $6,000 maximum amount is the same as the total amount approved for last year. Staff believes this amount will enable adequate oversight of the CVSIM model as it is re-coded to address aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) and other issues.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Board approve this item along with the consent calendar. The Administrative Committee reviewed this item at its October 4, 2006 meeting and voted 2 to 0 to recommend approval. If this item is adopted along with the Consent Calendar, staff will execute a contract amendment for a not-to-exceed amount of $6,000 for this work in FY 2006-2007.
