SUMMARY:
Director Lehman’s appointee to the Community Advisory Committee (CAC),
LandWatch of Monterey County, is not eligible to participate as they do not
have a representative that lives within the District who can serve on the
committee. Ms. Lehman has appointed the
Monterey Alliance of Neighborhoods (
RECOMMENDATION:
Ratify the appointment of the Monterey Alliance of Neighborhoods to the
CAC.
BACKGROUND:
On January 25, 2007, the Board ratified a list of seven community
organizations and seven community members to serve on the CAC. The charge to the CAC mandates that all
persons who serve on the committee must reside within the District
boundaries. The representative for
LandWatch of Monterey County did not reside within the District boundaries. Chris Fitz, LandWatch Executive Director,
suggested that one solution would be to have Janet Brennan represent the
organization. Staff advised Mr. Fitz
that Ms. Brennan represents the League of Women Voters on the CAC, and the
committee charge prohibits her from representing two organizations.
