SUMMARY: A
special statewide election was held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. The ballot
included an election for Directors in Voter Divisions 4 and 5. The results of the election were that Regina
Doyle was elected to represent Division 4 and Bob Brower was elected to
represent Division 5. Director Kristi Markey
was the only person who filed for candidacy in District 3, therefore, in
compliance with State Elections Code section 10515 she was appointed to her
second term by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors on September 11, 2007.
Attached as Exhibit 3-A is Resolution 2007-14, A
Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management
District Certifying the Results of the November 6, 2007 Election of Regina
Doyle to Voter Division 4 and Bob Brower to Voter Division 5.
RECOMMENDATION: District
staff recommends adoption of Resolution 2007-14.
BACKGROUND: The
November 6, 2007 Special Election ballot included the election of Directors in
Voter Divisions 4 and 5. Regina Doyle was
elected to Voter Division 4, and Bob Brower was elected to Voter Division 5. The Statement of Votes Cast is included as Attachment
1 to Resolution 2007-14. Director Kristi Markey’s candidacy was unopposed, so she
was appointed to serve her second term in Voter Division 3 by the Monterey
County Board of Supervisors on September 11, 2007.
