SUMMARY: In April 2008, the Board approved funding for upgrades to the electrical system at the Sleepy Hollow Steelhead Rearing Facility (SHSRF or Facility) for eight rearing troughs. The work was completed in May 2008 by JM Electric of Salinas. The project was more complicated than originally contemplated, and additional work had to be completed by JM Electric to finish the project before the start of rescues. Funds for this additional work will come out of the Facility’s General Operations and Maintenance budget line item (2-3-1 A).

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the District Board authorize expenditure of funds in a not-to-exceed amount of $1,635 for JM Electric of Salinas for the additional electrical work. The Administrative Committee reviewed this item at its June 5, 2008 meeting and voted 2 – 0 to recommend the expenditure.

IMPACT TO STAFF/RESOURCES: The Mid-Year 2007-2008 Budget included $40,400 for General operations and maintenance of SHSRF (Line Item 2-3-1 A). The additional $1,635 needed to complete this electrical work will come out of that fund.
