Monterey Peninsula Water Management District

Call To Order

The meeting was called to order at 3:30 PM in the District conference room.

Action Items

1.         Receive Minutes of November 8, 2007, January 7, 2008 and February 19, 2008 Committee Meetings

            On a motion by Director Markey and second of Director Doyle, the minutes were received unanimously on a vote of 3 – 0.

 

2.         Review  and Develop Recommendation to the Board on the Fine Schedule Associated with Draft Ordinance No. 133 – Amending the District’s Process to Enforce District Rules and Regulations

            The committee discussed proposed fines for Water Rationing Stages 4, 5 and 6.  The committee agreed that in Stage 5, the fine for the fourth offense should be double the amount shown for the third offense.  The committee discussed the Schedule of Fines and suggested several changes.  The committee also agreed that the Fine Schedule should specify if the fee is charged on a daily or monthly basis, and if it is a daily fee, in most cases the first offense should be set at $50 per day.  In addition, when a notice of a violation is mailed, there should be at least 2 weeks between the first and second notice.
