Commercial/Industrial/Institutional Water Audit
Scope of Work
Audit
- Receive referrals for audits from MPWMD Water Demand
Division staff. Referrals shall
include contact information for the audit site.
- Receive water consumption data from purveyor or
request records from appropriate administrative office.
- Contractor shall ensure that all water meters
serving the site have been identified and water records are
available. If records are not
available prior to site audit, inform MPWMD prior to site audit.
- Water use data shall be used to prepare graph of
historic use to be included in report.
- Water use data shall be used to prepare pie chart
showing types/locations of existing water uses.
- Water use data shall be considered in estimations of
water savings for specific retrofit.
- Complete all applicable follow up with customer to
schedule data collection by phone, on-site audits, and post-audit
questions.
- Complete onsite audit including indoor and outdoor
areas of water usage.
- Outdoor water audit shall include preparation of a
water budget in compliance with MPWMD Rule 172 in a format that can be
amended to account for improvements to the landscaping and irrigation
system(s).
- Compile the report within 15 business days of
completion of the site audit.
- Prepare 3 printed color copies of the completed audit
report and provide to MPWMD.
- Provide MPWMD with one PDF file of the completed
audit report.
- Provide MPWMD with electronic spreadsheet of raw data
and water budget(s).
Report
A final audit report for
each site shall be compiled that includes at least the following information:
- Identify location and account numbers of all water
meters serving the site.
- Identify water uses on each water meter.
- List and count all
water using devices, appliances, fixtures and process operations including
model numbers, location, estimated age of fixture/appliance and estimated
annual water usage.
- Identify location and provide
explanation of any leaks or other water-use issues identified on the site.
- Verify compliance with
MPWMD Regulation XIV for existing Non-Residential uses.
- Verify compliance with
MPWMD Regulation XIV for Non-Residential New Construction or Expansion of
Use, if applicable.
- Calculate customer
water allotment/budget (efficient monthly water usage applicable for the
property given operations and collected information from the on-site
audit) with comparison to actual water usage.
- Prepare
replacement/retrofit recommendations for each water using fixture,
including water and water cost savings estimates. Provide the calculated return on
investment (ROI) or payback for all devices, appliances, process upgrades
and other water saving improvements.
- Provide energy savings
and cost savings estimate, when available.
