2. Discuss
Suspension of Water Credit Expiration if Moratorium is Approved by
The committee members recommended that the Board authorize development of an ordinance that would authorize the extension of water credit expiration dates if a moratorium on new water connections is established by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). District Counsel noted that the CPUC has not yet determined that water credits could be used if California-American Water is authorized to implement a moratorium on issuance of new connections.
3. Discuss
Classification of Gas Station Convenience Stores
It was agreed that due to changes in gas pump technology and the function of gasoline stations, it was necessary to redefine the factor for gasoline pumps. Pintar was directed to develop information on gasoline station configurations, and alternatives for assessing gas station water use. Still to be determined is the timing and methodology for development of a new factor for gasoline pumps. A study is currently underway to update the District’s commercial water use factors. At a future meeting, the committee should determine if the study will be delayed in order to develop new factors for gasoline pumps, or if gas pump factors should be formulated after the commercial water factor study is completed.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 a.m.
