SUMMARY: The District’s enabling legislation requires that the District prepare an annual written report of the activities of the District in the protection and augmentation of water supplies of the District. The legislation further requires that a public hearing be held in March of each year regarding the contents of the report before it is finalized, and that notice be published 10 days prior to the meeting date advertising the public hearing. This is a request that the public hearing be deferred to the April 18, 2011 Board meeting, because notice of the March 21, 2011 public hearing was not published ten days in advance of the hearing as required by law.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff requests that the public hearing on the draft 2010 MPWMD Annual Report be deferred to the April 18, 2011 Board meeting.
