SUMMARY: The Water Management District joined the
Monterey County Special Districts Association (Association) in 2004 and by
Resolution No. 2004-05 designated the General Manager to serve as the Alternate
representative to the Association. The
resolution did not specify who would serve as Primary representative. The
Board’s current practice is to annually appoint Directors to serve as Primary
and Alternate representatives to the Association.
On August 5, 2013, the
Association requested that the Water Management District update its designation
of Primary and Alternative representatives to conform with
current practice and to comply with definitions provided by the
Association. Attached as Exhibit 2-A
is Resolution 2013-13 that, if adopted, would specify that the Board Chair or
designee would serve as Primary representative to the Association, and the
General Manager or a designee would serve as Alternate.
RECOMMENDATION:
District staff recommends the Board of Directors adopt Resolution No.
2013-13.
