A Resolution of the Board of Directors of
the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District
Amending Table 2: Non-Residential Water Use Factors
WHEREAS District
Rule 24-B (Non-Residential Calculation of Water Use Capacity) allows changes to
Table 2: Non-Residential Water Use Factors through Resolution of the Board of
Directors; and
WHEREAS the Water Demand Committee requested that staff use
the approval of a variance for Santa Lucia at the March 2015 Board meeting as a
basis for defining Group II guidelines; and
WHEREAS staff has added language to Table 2, Non-Residential
Water Use Factors in response to the committee’s direction; and
WHEREAS conditions related to the Group II food uses will be
printed on the Water Permit and will not be recorded on the title of the
property; and
WHEREAS the current Non-Residential Water Use Factor for convenience stores
(i.e. 7-11/Quik Stop/gas station convenience stores, etc.) is Group II (0.0002
Acre-Foot Annually per square-foot) which does not reflect current Water Use
Capacity; and
WHEREAS the
Group I Water Use Factor of 0.00007 Acre-Foot Annually per square-foot more appropriately
characterizes the water demand for convenience stores.
WHEREAS the current Non-Residential Water Use Factor for dry cleaners is Group
II (0.0002 Acre-Foot Annually per square-foot) and does not reflect current
Water Use Capacity which varies depending on whether the User does laundry
On-Site; and
WHEREAS the
Group Water Use Factor of 0.00007 Acre-Foot Annually per square-foot more
appropriately characterizes the water demand for retail “dry cleaner” drop off
locations that do not do laundry On-Site. Dry cleaner uses that do laundry
shall be classified as “Other” and shall have appropriate demand estimates
based on their proposed uses.
NOW,
THEREFORE, the
Board of Directors of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District resolves
that District Rule 24-B, Table 2: Non-Residential Water Use Factors shall be
modified as shown in Attachment 1.
On motion of Director
Pendergrass, and second by Director Byrne, the foregoing resolution is duly
adopted this 23rd day of July 2014 by the following vote:
