Water Supply Planning Committee of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District July 14, 2014
Call to Order		The meeting was called order at 1:35 pm in the Water Management District conference room.

Committee members absent:				None
Staff members present:				David Stoldt, General Manager
				Larry Hampson, Planning & Engineering Division Manager
				Arlene Tavani, Executive Assistant
District Counsel present:				David Laredo
Comments from the Public				No members of the public were present. Larry Hampson reported that he participated on a team that worked with Value Management Strategies to evaluate the preliminary recommendations from a value management study on design of the desalination plant proposed by California American Water. The evaluation included plant design only, not source water intake or brine discharge. Fourteen design suggestions were identified. The final report should be released by the end of June 2014.
Discussion Items
1.	Update on Progress to Obtain Source Water Agreements for Pure Water Monterey Project
	Stoldt provided an update. No action was taken by the committee.
Action Items
2.	Develop Recommendation to the Board on Receipt of Final Los Padres Dam and Reservoir Long-Term Strategic and Short-Term Tactical Plan
	Byrne offered a motion that was seconded by Brower, to recommend that the Board receive the report as a “further draft”, so that the Water Supply Planning committee can take time to analyze the report and recommend action in the future. The motion was approved unanimously on a vote of Byrne, Brower and Pendergrass.

3.	Discuss Development of Alternative Method for Annual Water Supply Analysis
	No discussion. Item deferred to a future committee meeting.
