SUMMARY: On October 8, 2014 Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency, the Monterey County Water Resources Agency, the City of Salinas, the Marina Coast Water District, and Monterey Peninsula Water Management District, collectively the "Parties" entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of permanent agreements in support of the Pure Water Monterey groundwater replenishment project. The MOU anticipated agreements in place by March 31, 2015. While progress is being made on multiple fronts, it became clear that the March 31 deadline could not be met. On April 20, 2015, the Board approved an extension to June 30, 2015. The deadline was extended again on July 20, 2015, to September 30, 2015. Amendment 3 attached as Exhibit 7-A would extend the deadline to December 31, 2015.
RECOMMENDATION: The General Manager recommends that the Board of Directors approve Amendment 3 to the MOU.
