SUMMARY: The Confidential Staff Bargaining Unit and
the Board’s negotiating representative have agreed to terms for a new 3-year
Memorandum of Understanding, attached as Exhibit 7-A.
The new bargaining points
incorporated into the agreement, as a result of this year’s negotiations, are
essentially identical to those agreed upon by the Management Staff Bargaining
Unit.
The one exception is that Confidential Staff, who are not represented by
the United Public Employees of California, Local 792/Laborers’ International
Union of North America, are still allowed to opt-out of the Northern California
Laborers Trust health plan if they have alternate coverage through their
spouse.
RECOMMENDATION: The
General Manager recommends that the Board adopt the Confidential Staff
Agreement as it appears in Exhibit 7-A.
