SUMMARY: The Political Reform Act requires every local government agency to review its Conflict of Interest Code biennially and amend the code as appropriate to ensure compliance with current State law. The District last updated its code on October 19, 2020. In October of this year, District Counsel reviewed the MPWMD Conflict of Interest Code (COI) and determined that Appendix A, List of Designated Positions should be updated to reflect the addition of the Assistant General Manager position. Refer to the red-lined version of the proposed amended code provided as Attachment 1 to Draft Resolution No. 2024-12 (Exhibit 4-A).
RECOMMENDATION: The Board should review the amended Conflict of Interest Code and approve Draft Resolution No. 2024-12.
