SUMMARY: At the August 30, 2006 Public Outreach Committee (POC) meeting, the Directors requested that one or two persons be chosen from District staff to narrate the video. It was proposed that all District staff members be invited to audition for the narrator position. District management staff and the POC would review the videotaped auditions and select a narrator or narrators for the production.
Six staff members requested an audition. The videotaped auditions were reviewed by District management staff. Their recommendation will be given orally to the committee at the September 28, 2006 meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: The POC should view the audition tapes, consider management staff’s recommendation, and select one or two persons to narrate the production.
BACKGROUND: An email was sent to all District staff inviting them to audition for the narrator position. Staff was advised that Team Management and the POC would review the audition tapes. The selection of a narrator(s) would be based on criteria such as clear speaking voice, professional appearance, and camera persona (i.e. smiles, looks at the camera, etc.).
