SUMMARY: District staff and CAW representatives have initiated discussion on a coordinated conservation message, and have exchanged ideas and concepts during several meetings, phone and e-mail over the past several months. A meeting between CAW and MPWMD staff is planned for Friday, May, 18, 2007, which will occur after the staff notes for this item are due. Thus, District staff will provide a verbal summary of the meeting with CAW at the May 25, 2007 Public Outreach Committee meeting. As there are no formal materials presently available for review, any materials available at that time will be provided to the Committee.
RECOMMENDATION: The committee should receive the report from staff and provide recommendations for further action.
BACKGROUND: District staff and CAW staff are interested in communicating a common message and coordinating programs this water year to avoid exceeding the regulatory water use limits. The program being planned will also be designed to continue into next year if current rainfall conditions continue.
