SUMMARY: Historically, MPWMD’s media activity appears to have been reactionary in nature. With the increased coverage of water issues, and the anticipated amount of coverage to come in the next year, it could prove beneficial for the District to take a more proactive approach in garnering media coverage and placing content in various outlets. 

 

RECOMMENDATION: Committee members should discuss and provide recommendations to staff. If a more proactive approach is wanted, committee members should recommend frequency and type of media outreach (e.g., guest editorials, press releases, advertisements).
