RESOLUTION NO. 2008‑01
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE MONTEREY PENINSULA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
Amending
Table 2: Non-Residential Water Use Factors
WHEREAS District Rule 11, Intensified Water Use, states “Where there is no increase in the size of a
commercial structure, a change in use from one commercial category in Group I
to another category within Group I shall not cause an intensification of water
use”, and;
WHEREAS an unenclosed structure (i.e. area not totally surrounded
with a combination of walls, windows, doors, floor and roof, such as; carports,
garages with no doors, porches, decks, patios, rooftops and balconies) is not
considered usable square footage, and;
WHEREAS, the District’s Rules and Regulations Committee has
recommended that unenclosed structures be exempt from the Non-Residential Water
Permit requirements and have no water credit value, and;
WHEREAS, exempting unenclosed structures from the Water Permit process
will not have an effect on the District’s water demand.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the
Monterey Peninsula Water Management District resolves that

District Rule 24-B, Table 2: Non-Residential Water
Use Factors shall be modified as shown in Exhibit
1.

Unenclosed structures shall be exempt from the Non-Residential Water
Permit requirements.
(3)
Water
Credits for unenclosed structures shall not be granted in the District.
