RESOLUTION NO. 2001 B 09
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE MONTEREY PENINSULA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
DISALLOWING WATER USE CREDIT FOR MULTIPLE
UTILITY SINK INSTALLATIONS (INDOOR AND OUTDOOR) AND OTHER OUTDOOR WATER
FIXTURES
WHEREAS there has been a marked increase in the number of residential
utility sinks (located inside and outside) and other outdoor water fixtures
being installed to obtain Water Use Credits, and;
WHEREAS
District staff is unable to reliably distinguish between legally installed
water fixtures and water fixtures installed without the appropriate permit,
and;
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the District=s Water Demand Committee that exterior water fixtures be disallowed
as Water Use Credits, and;
WHEREAS,
it is the recommendation of the Water Demand Committee that a residential site
shall not be given a Water Use Credit for more than one utility sink, and;
WHEREAS,
Water Use Credits for outdoor water fixtures and multiple utility sinks create
discrepancies during permit pre-inspections to document existing water fixtures
prior to issuance of a water permit, and;
WHEREAS,
removal of these fixtures from the permit process will have a minimal effect on
the District=s ability to project water demand.
NOW
THEREFORE, the Board of
Directors of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District resolves that
(1) District
Rule 24-C (2), Table I: Fixture Unit Count, shall be modified as shown in Exhibit 1.
