SUMMARY: Director Brower has asked the Water Demand Committee to discuss the addition of synthetic turf to the District’s rebate program. Staff would also like to discuss other additions to the rebate program, including Cash for Grass and rebates for Commercial/Industrial/Institutional (CII) retrofits. CII retrofits for rebates might include:
o Pint urinals
o Connectionless food steamers
o Water efficient sterilizing equipment
o Commercial dishwashers
o High efficiency commercial washers
o Air-cooled ice machines
o Cooling tower conductivity controllers
o Pre-rinse spray valves
o Other innovative and proven retrofits
Staff would also like to discuss the amount of rebates currently being offered. A comparison of the District’s rebates to other programs will be presented at the meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: The Water Demand Committee should discuss the
proposed rebates and provide feedback to staff.
