Larry Hampson, one of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District’s longest tenured employees and a critical component in many of the District’s water supply, environmental mitigation and steelhead rescue projects will be retiring at month’s end.
Advancing through the ranks, Larry was eventually promoted to Planning and Engineering Manager/District Engineer where he oversaw the District’s involvement in projects such as: Pure Water Monterey, Aquifer Storage and Recovery, Carmel River Streambank Restoration and the Sleepy Hollow Steelhead Rearing Facility Expansion.
An avid cyclist, Larry will be spending time in Europe before returning to the MPWMD as a part time consultant to help complete the important projects he is involved in.
We will miss Larry’s expertise and commitment to the mission of the Water Management District. Good Luck!
