Committee Recommendation:  The Ad Hoc Water Supply Planning Committee reviewed the draft revised committee charge on February 2, 2010 and recommended approval.

SUMMARY:   Attached as Exhibit 2-A is a draft revised charge to the Ad Hoc Water Supply Planning Committee that removes the “Ad Hoc” designation from the committee description.   The proposed revision was suggested by the Chair and Vice Chair at their meeting of January 7, 2010.  The revised charge contains no references to specific agencies or water supply projects, so that the Committee is not limited to review of projects that were mentioned in the original charge.  The committee members are Directors Brower, Markey and Edwards.  The committee alternate is Director Doyle.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  The Ad Hoc Water Supply Planning Committee recommended approval of the revised charge at its meeting of February 2, 2010. 

 

BACKGROUND:  The charge to the Ad Hoc Water Supply Planning Committee was adopted by the Board on January 29, 2009.  At that time, the charge was focused on forging agreements with specific agencies on development of identified water supply projects.  Since that time, agreements with local agencies have been developed.  The committee proposes to remove the Ad Hoc status and expand its scope to facilitate development of various methods for increasing the water supply.
